The Sunflowers

The smile of a thousand sunflowers

Touches the cheek

Like the sweet stroke of the sun.

Warm and tender in their caress

They nurture and feed wilted spirits.

As stars that light the sky,

They ripple with a sense of fun and wonder.

A sparkle to the eyes;

Beauty and energy to tiredness.

‘Lift up’, they say

And let your spirit soar between the clouds of yesterday.

Only then will you move

Through today and tomorrow.

Feel the air around the surface of your body

Then let this body go.

Become the air and dissipate within

The extraordinary realms of the universe.

Fly and feel and find

The peacefulness of true nature and true being….

The sense of floating

In a calm pool of love,

An iridescent, non-flickering constant…

…peace, brightfully pervading….

‘We are the sunflowers’
